Hello, I am using a QBO Advanced license, and I have gained access to Backup, Restore, Copy, and Local Backup. I need to download from my local backup in the cloud to QBDT, but the file that downloads is a .zip. How can I convert it to at least QBB or QBW?

Hello there, PMONC.

I understand your need to bring files to QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).

Currently, converting .zip format to QBB or QBW is unavailable. Consider using a third-party app for transformation. You can find one by visiting this website: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/app/apps/home/.

Alternatively, you can use Microsoft Edge and paste this URL: https://c71.qbo.intuit.com/app/exportqbodatatoqbdt). Here's how:

  1. Click the Get Started button.
  2. Select the Download Tool.
  3. Install the migration tool and follow the onscreen instructions to complete the process.
  4.  Choose the data you want to convert and click the Continue button.
  5. Pick the Continue to Download button.

Afterward, follow step 3 in this link to finish exporting: Export and convert your QBO data to QBDT.

I've also shared these articles for additional reference:

To help manage your exported data, check this guide: Limitations when you convert from QuickBooks Online to QuickBooks Desktop.

Let me know if you have other questions about converting data in QuickBooks. I'm always here to help. Take care.

@PMONC

Have you visited the following reference?

Which QB Desktop year version do you have? Another option, you can purchase a 3rd party conversion service.
