@Rachele11  As far as I'm aware, that should be as simple as changing the name of one to be the same as the other.

Not sure whether that'll make QBO eat itself with respect to inventory values, though.

FishingForAnswers has provided accurate information, Rachele11, and let me share additional details. In QuickBooks Online, you cannot merge inventory items. This rule helps keep your inventory and financial reports accurate, protecting crucial data like inventory values and quantities.

However, when it comes to service or non-inventory items, merging is possible and can be an efficient way to organize your item list. I'm here and eager to assist you with this process.

To merge duplicate service/non-inventory items, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the Gear icon, then select Products and Services.
  2. Identify the two items you wish to combine.
  3. Select the duplicate item you want to eliminate and choose Edit.
  4. Update the name of the service or non-inventory item to match the name of the item you want to keep. Ensure the spelling and spacing are identical.
  5. Click Save. QuickBooks will ask for confirmation to merge the items.
  6. Then, hit Yes to confirm.

After the merging, all its records will move to the remaining item, and this action is irreversible.
