Moving from QB Online to QB Premier 2021

I have been using QB online for my very simple LLP since 2018, but now I want to move it to QB Premier 2021 with my other business. I am looking for a way to move all of the transactions. So far, the two things I have found are a 3rd part app called exportmybooks.com that will cost me $174.00 and a discussion from 2020 explaining how someone used IE and what steps they had to take because it didn't work the way it was supposed to. Can someone tell me what steps I need to take in order to move my LLP?

Thank you!

Liz

Let me share the steps on how to move your QuickBooks Online data to the desktop version, @Liz Hamm.

When you switch from Online to QuickBooks Desktop, you may notice differences in how your books appear. To understand how your data were moved, you may check out this article: Get more info about what data does and doesn't export from QuickBooks Online.

If you haven't, make sure to download QuickBooks Desktop. Then, sign in to QuickBooks Online and download the migration tool.

  1. Sign in to the QuickBooks Online account you want to convert using a supported web browser. Use your Intuit Account credentials.
  2. Choose the URL and replace anything after /app/ with exportqbodatatoqbdt.  The URL should say https://app.qbo.intuit.com/app/exportqbodatatoqbdt. Then click Enter on your keyboard.
  3. In the Export Overview window, read the Export Overview. Then, select Get Started.
  4. Click the Download tool to download the QuickBooks Desktop migration tool.
  5. Once you download the tool, launch the tool to install it and select Next.
  6. Accept the terms in the license agreement and select Next.
  7. Choose Complete as the type of setup, then Next.
  8. Click Install, then Finish.

To complete the process, proceed to Steps 3 to 5 in this resource: Move your QuickBooks Online data to QuickBooks Desktop

You'll want to move your accounts, customers, vendors, and opening balances in QuickBooks. You can use this link for your reference: Move lists and balances from QuickBooks Online to QuickBooks Desktop.

Fill me in if you have further concerns with moving your QuickBooks Online to the Desktop version. I'm always around to help. Stay safe!
