moving item between companys

i started a second company.  i need to properly move accounts (loans, credit cards, bank accounts, etc) associated with the new company from the old company.

I'm here to help you transfer your Chart of Accounts (COA) list from one QuickBooks Desktop company to another. The process involves exporting your list as an IIF file from your old company and then importing it into the new one.

 

Here are the steps to export your data from your previous QuickBooks company:

 

  1. Go to the File menu, select Utilities.
  2. Click Export, choose List to IFF Files.
  3. In the Export window, check Chart of Accounts.
  4. Click OK.
  5. Enter the name and type of the file.
  6. Select Save.

 

After exporting your list, you can proceed to import it into your new QuickBooks company file. Let me walk you through the steps:

 

  1. Open the File menu, click Utilities.
  2. Select Import, choose List to IIF Files.
  3. Click Import IIF.
  4. Look for the file and select Open.
