Hi There!

We just moved from desktop to online and I need to migrate my past sales orders. Has anyone figured out how to do this?

Hi, Jessica.

Currently, the sales order feature is unavailable in QuickBooks Online (QBO) and won't be transferred from QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) during the migration process.

For now, you can use third-party apps to generate sales orders in QBO. Here's how:

  1. From the left navigation panel, select Apps.
  2. Open the Find apps tab.
  3. Enter keywords like "Sales order" or select the Browse category dropdown menu to check out different apps.

To learn how to transfer data and features from QBDT to QBO, you can refer to this article: Learn how features and data move from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online.

Feel free to return to this thread if you have any other questions besides migrating sales orders from QBDT to QBO. I'm always available to help.

OK....

QuickBooks Online doesn't have sales orders? Wow! QuickBooks Desktop has had them for 20 years.

So, my question is: How is it that Intuit thinks QuickBooks Online is a reasonable replacement for Desktop when it's missing so many fundamental features for many QuickBooks Desktop customers?

are you able to transfer sales orders from QBDT to QBO as estimates since there is no sales order?

@JessicaSales

There is no sales order feature in QBO at this time. Consider switching back to QB Desktop. Otherwise, you may have the following options:

1. Use a 3rd party app with sales order feature (e.g inventory management app) to integrate with QBO

2. Use the trial version of QB Desktop to access your historical data for good.
