Question

My business checks have been preprinted with my business name and address info. When printing a payroll check, QB OL prints over the preprinted info. How do I stop that?

Hi, @bcandregg.

Thank you for reaching out to the Community. Let me provide some insight into how to print over the preprinted info.

If you use QuickBooks-compatible checks, make sure they're correctly aligned when printing or reprinting paychecks. Let me walk you through fixing the alignment in QuickBooks:

  1. Go to Settings ⚙, then select Payroll Settings.
  2. In the Printing section, select Edit ✎.
  3. Select Paycheck on QuickBooks-compatible check paper.
  4. Select Print paycheck and one pay stub or Print paycheck and two pay stubs.
  5. Select Align check, then select Print alignment form to print a sample check.
  6. Follow the instructions, then close the window.
  7. Follow the instructions, then enter the letter and number that fits best. Here are some tips on how to adjust the alignment.
  8. Select Save, then Done.

Now, try to print a check. If you still need to make adjustments, repeat the steps above.

Given that the problem persists, follow the steps provided in Fix browser and software issues in this article: Troubleshoot printing paychecks, pay stubs, and forms in QuickBooks Online Payroll.

In addition, I would like to share an article with you regarding QuickBooks Online Payroll. This article helps invite your employees to view and print their own pay stubs and W-2s online:
