My mileage

My mileage tracker does not track my individual trips it tracks my mileage for the whole day. starts from when I leave home to come to work and does not stop until I go home for the day.  It will track and add mileage if I GO anywhere else after work.  It will not separate the trips.  Yes my autotracker is on,

I'm here to provide information about the Mileage feature in QuickBooks Online (QBO). 

If the mileage auto-tracker is turned on, it'll automatically track your trip as long as your QBO mobile application is open. It'll detect and track the miles from start to finish. Once you arrive at your destination, you can close the app to stop the mileage tracking.

Since your mileage tracks your whole day's destination, including personal trips, you may have left your QBO mobile application open all day. 

To sort this out, you may want to categorize your mileage. Here's how:

On Android and iOS devices:
 

  1. Open the QuickBooks mobile app.
  2. Select the menu ☰ icon and then Mileage.
  3. Click the Unreviewed tab.
  4. Find the trip. Swipe left to categorize the trip as Business. Or swipe right to categorize it as Personal.
  5. Add a purpose for the trip.
  6. Select the vehicle you used.
  7. Click on Save.
     

On a web browser:
 

  1. Go to Apps, then select Mileage (Take me there).
  2. Find the trip and select the checkbox.
  3. Select Mark as Business or Mark as Personal for the type.
  4. Review the details.
  5. If you need to edit the location or distance, select the trip, make your changes, and then select Save.


You can also edit your trips. Here's how:
 

  1. Sign in to QuickBooks Online in a web browser.
  2. Go to Apps and select Mileage (Take me there).
  3. Select the Unreviewed, Business, Personal, or All tab.
  4. Find and select the trip you want to edit.
  5. Make your changes.
  6. Select Save.
