My print alignment settings are not saving. How do you ensure they are saved so checks print properly?

Hi there, efay90.

I want to make sure you're able to save the print alignment settings. You need to fine-tune the check alignment and finish the setup. That way, the changes will be saved.

Here are the steps you can follow.

Click + New, then select Print checks.
Select Print setup.
Click No, continue setup, then select No, continue setup again. This opens up the Check in an alignment window where you can adjust the margins to correct the alignment:
From the check image window, drag the grid so the numbers are in the same place they appear on your sample print. QuickBooks will automatically adjust the alignment.
The numbers on the vertical and horizontal fields are adjustable and tell QuickBooks exactly where to print the check amount.
After adjusting the grid, select View preview and print sample, then select Print.
Follow the on-screen steps to finish printing your sample check
Check the alignment of your sample against a blank check.
Repeat the grid alignment process and print as many times as you need until your check is aligned correctly, then Finish Setup.

1. Select "Devices & Printers" after clicking "Start."

2. Select "Printing Preferences" from the pop-up menu by performing a right-click on the printer that has to be aligned.

3. Select "Services" from the menu, then select "Align the Print Cartridges." An alignment test sheet is printed automatically by the printer.

4. To align the cartridges, according to the Alignment wizard's directions. Consider choosing in the wizard the right responses that match the test page's results. When the Alignment wizard is finished, click "Finish."

My print alignment for checks was not saving. I struggled with this for days! Contacted Intuit, but agent could not help. I followed the instructions in the program as it shows and saved the settings. When I went to print a check, the alignment I set it to did not print correctly. I had installed Adobe Acrobat and done everything I was supposed to so the agent reported the problem to software people at Intuit. I tried every browser and still no luck. Cleaned cached and still no luck. Finally I went into extensions and enabled the Adobe Acrobat extension as it was not enabled when I did the install and my checks printed perfectly. This should be in the instructions on the alignment page of QuickBooks and so should the instructions to install Adobe Acrobat. The solution I got from the agent was that I needed to buy my checks from Intuit even though I had several hundred blank checks already. How could this even help as I was printing the check on a blank paper and the dollar amount was showing over half an inch higher than what I had set in the alignment.

My other problem was that I needed to print my company logo and address when I print the checks. Once again I was supposed to buy Intuit checks with my company address printed on it. I just set up a word document with my logo and address and nothing else and put my checks in the printer and printed all the checks with the logo and my company address. This is the help I should have gotten from Intuit so hopefully my post helps someone else.

These two problems cost me several days of lost time and could have been easily solved. This post shows solved, but it did not solve the problem I had with print alignment.
