Need an older version of QB Desktop for Mac

Hello,

I currently use an iMac computer running OS X El Capitan (version 10.11.6). Because of the age of this computer, it is not possible to upgrade the operating system (according to Apple). What version of Quickbooks Desktop for Mac would be compatible with this operating system? And where could I find it for purchase? It is ok if Intuit no longer supports the version, as I do not have any other option as buying another computer at this time is not practical. Thanks.

Thanks..that cloud option looks interesting. I know there’s a monthly fee, but would I really be able to use the latest QB for Windows or Mac on my current system running El Capitan? They seem to offer discounted pricing on QB too which is nice.

The authorized QB cloud hosting provider only supports QBD Windows 2019-2021. You can use QB anywhere anytime from any device be it Mac, Windows, Android or iOS devices, Chromebooks, Surface Pro and more. All you need to have is an internet connection

Welcome to the Community, ncs7. I can help share insights about the supported version compatible with Mac OS 10.11 (El Capitan).

QuickBooks for Mac 2016 R5 or earlier will run with Mac OS 10.11 (El Capitan) and Mac OS 10.10.2 (Yosemite).

For more detailed information about our minimum system requirements, you can check out this article: System Requirements for QuickBooks for Mac older versions

Feel free to get back into this thread if you have other questions about QB Mac.

Thanks so much for your quick reply. Do you know where I could purchase that version? I’ve looked everywhere and cannot find it. If I can’t get my hands on it, is there some other means of running Quickbooks Desktop (not Quickbooks Online) on my iMac running El Capitan? Thanks again.
