New Client wants check writing services using my check stock or to train their actresses how to create an invoice

I got a new client inquiry from supposedly a movie production company, asking if I can train 4 actresses on how to create an invoice and how to create recurring invoices, and then day two how to train these actresses on how to create a 1099. Day one 2 hrs they will pay me $4000 and Day 2 2 hrs they will pay me $4000 , so $8000 total.

Seems like a scam. then he asks me to send him a QBO invoice. Which I was wondering how they might complete the scam to get my money... If I force them to pay with credit card then they don't have much recourse.

Then scam number two same person sends me email asking if i can do AP work and send 5-10 checks a day using my check paper. I guess writing out real checks and sending through the post office. Don't know how that one scam will play out since I would never do that over an email with a brand new client... crazy...

Just wondering if anybody has come across this scam or is it legit?

How can it be legit?  They are asking for checks. They can easily "wash" the checks and input whatever amount and info they want.  Besides, no actress needs to know how to do that stuff, even for a film.

    It's a scam

Do yourself AND your company a favor and just ignore it all.

ok now I'm getting another type of scam...

I have got several leads coming through from my listing on QB ProAdvisor page...

However, the last 2 or 3 were scams and I don't know what they are trying to get at but I can tell they are not straight up a business lead from someone trying to get help with their small business, or accounting help setting up QB.

here is the lead I got as email message from the Proadvisor link... - emailed to me...

Erica has contacted you from the QuickBooks Find a ProAdvisor directory.
    Phone:

    The message that Erica sent:

Hi Don Good day My name is Erica Hubbard, I work as a manager at a construction company. We're looking for a professional bookkeeper as a consultant. Your experience would provide valuable guidance to our new project. I came accros your profile on pro intiut We will like to know your comfort time for a remote consultation on: January 12th January 13th January 14th If you are interested, please confirm. I'll send over more project details. Best regards, Erica Hubbard

People in US don't say "Good day", first of all, and misspelling, "comfort time" and consult, - I have had this similar one in last month or so saying consult or train our staff... I don't know whether I should even respond to this... I mean I have my contact info on my ProAdvisor page (I think) ...

Has anybody else gotten anything like this as a lead?

Is there any way QB can check the validity of this?

    Thanks

    Don

I'm not a Pro Advisor or anything, and I get those same emails in my personal email.  It's a scam.  I would just ignore them. Maybe report the email as fraud or scam.
