New Design Sucks How Do I Copy The SKU?

Here's nothing new, the new Estimates and Invoice designs that people have been complaining about for a year absolutely suck!

 

How do I copy a SKU from an estimate or invoice? I can add it to the layout, I just can't select it. Until a few days ago I was able to copy SKU's and paste them in my vendor portals and it was all really smooth. Now I can't click on the the SKU, highlight them, copy them. You (as in INTUIT) just added hours of work to my daily life by removing this simple ability.

 

Is there a way to copy a SKU from the NEW Estimate and Invoice Layout?

I understand the impact this issue may have on your business. Let me explain why you're unable to copy the SKU from your new estimate and invoice.

 

As of now, QuickBooks Online does not provide the option to directly copy an SKU from the new estimate and invoice layout. For you to be able to copy the SKU go to Product and Services.

 

Here's how you can find and copy an SKU:
 

  1. Go to the Sales menu.
  2. Select the Products and Services option.
  3. Find the product with the SKU you want to copy in the list.
  4. Click on the product to open its details.
  5. You'll see the SKU listed in the product information. You can highlight the SKU and right-click to copy it.

U understand that your proposal means I'll be doing this possibly dozens of times per invoice? In the old view I could click to copy every SKU from the estimate or invoice page!

If it wasn't broken, then why did it need to be 'fixed'? Your 'improvement' has absolutely DESTROYED our productivity. This was the last straw for our QBO experiment, this has been a complete fail. Until then, I still have purchases that need to be made...

Does anyone have any other suggestions? I'm at a complete loss here with this manufactured crisis Intuit has created.

To copy the SKU from the invoice page to your vendor portals, consider copying it from the invoice window's PDF view. For this, please ensure to use the Modern design template. You can follow these steps:

 

  1. Go to the +New. Then, Invoice.
    a. Alternatively, open an existing invoice if you've already created one.
  2. After you've input all the details in an invoice, click on Manage. Then, go to the Design tab.
  3. Choose the Modern radio button.
  4. Select the PDF view tab.
  5. Highlight the SKU for the items you've entered. Then, right-click and pick Copy, or press Ctrl + C on your keyboard.

     

 

That's it! You should be able to copy the SKU for your items from the invoice page with a few added steps.
