Question

New invoice layout due dates

Good evening,

I can't be the only one who dislikes the upcoming "new" invoice layout, and I have been reverting to the old nearly every day!

That said, the main feature of the "new" that I really need to be able to change, is making the invoice due date a day earlier than the invoice date. I realize this is a weird need, but I am with a payroll company, and we impound client's service fee funds -1 day before their check date, and that becomes the due date.

We had used Xero until 2024 and this was never an issue, and even the "old" invoice layout in QB allowed it...why now will it not?

Signed,

Dreading May 6th...

I hear your sentiments, @PK33635.

Yes, you're right. With the new invoice layout in QuickBooks Online (QBO), we're unable to select a due date that is earlier than the invoice date because the system will detect it as invalid.

Please know that we value our customers' feedback and suggestions and strive to improve your QBO experience. Therefore, let me assist you in relaying your valuable insight to our software engineers so they can consider bringing back this feature to invoices.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Click Feedback.
  3. Enter your feature request, then select Next.

Moreover, you'll need to record an invoice payment in QBO to mark it as paid. Otherwise, it remains open and unpaid on your reports.

Please stay in touch whenever you have follow-up concerns about invoices. We're always available 24/7 to address your questions. Take care, and have a great day ahead!
