New Shipping Manager

Does anyone know when the new shipping manager will be operational and available for download?

The old shipping manager no longer links to UPS. We are therefore waiting for the new shipping manager to become operational before we upgrade to V2024. But obviously that window is closing quickly as the May 31 force upgrade deadline approaches.

We are using Desktop Enterprise v2022.

We are in the process of updating our QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) Shipping Manager experience, which will be launching in the near future, Tim. I'll continue discussing this below.

We’re updating QBDT's shipping experience to provide enhanced security, greater convenience, and more choices for managing your shipments, all from within QBDT.

We're also upgrading it to a more user-friendly and secure shipping interface, incorporating OAuth (Open Authentication) to keep your credentials safe while granting limited access to other shipping carriers based on your approval. We aim to make this new experience available to you as soon as possible. Until then, you can continue using the current shipping features until May 31, 2025.

Here are some benefits of the updated feature:

  • Enhanced security
  • Seamless shipment tracking
  • Browse and compare rates
  • Expanded carrier options

If you have QuickBooks Desktop 2022 or older, you need to upgrade to QuickBooks Desktop 2024 to use the new shipping features.

If you have QuickBooks Desktop 2024, you need to update to the latest release of QuickBooks Desktop 2024.

You can download any shipping-related data before May 31, 2025. This includes the shipment date, customer contact details, tracking number, transaction reference, estimated shipping charges, the carrier service you've opted for, and cash on delivery (COD) details, if any.

After May 31, 2025, you won’t be able to access the listed information or use the existing shipping experience within QuickBooks Desktop. However, you can still perform shipping-related tasks, like voiding labels, directly on the carrier's official website.

Here’s how to download your shipping data:

  1. Go to File and select Shipping.
  2. Choose the carrier (FedEx, UPS, USPS) for which you need shipment details.
  3. Click Track or Cancel a Shipment.
  4. Set the date range for the shipping data you want.
  5. Click Report, then Print.
  6. In the print preview, choose "Save as PDF and select a location on your computer to save the file.
  7. Click Save.
  8. Repeat these steps for each carrier and any additional date ranges to compile a complete record of your shipping history.

Once you’ve downloaded your shipping data for shipments made before May 31, 2025, set up the new Shipping Manager so you can continue shipping from within QuickBooks.

Moreover, If you're looking for guidance on setting up and managing your inventory to improve cash flow, increase efficiency, enhance customer satisfaction, reduce costs, and enable better decision-making, I recommend referring to the article: Set up Advanced Inventory in QuickBooks Desktop.

Will the old version of shipping be available in QB Desktop after 31-May?

Based on your response on about 6-May-2025, the New Shipping Manager for Desktop is not yet available.  You do realize that Intuit has not sent any notice about the delay even though they have insisted that we will no longer have access to the old shipping manager after 31-May?  Intuit has sent paper mail and notifications through email stating the old version will not be available after 31-May.

So, if it won't be available after 31-May, what do we do between that date and the date the new Shipping Manager for Desktop is released?

The old version of the shipping manager in QuickBooks Desktop will no longer be available after May 31, 2025, Agaus.

We are currently updating it to the new Shipping Manager experience. I understand the challenges caused by its availability, but our product development team is still actively working on making the new experience available soon to all users, ensuring a smooth transition.

You will see a nudge in the upper right corner when you open your QBDT company, which announces a new Shipping Manager coming soon. This transition is necessary to ensure continued seamless and efficient shipping operations for you.

For now, you can use this time to prepare your data and familiarize yourself with the new Shipping Manager. This preparation will help facilitate a smoother transition once the new system goes live. Refer to this article for details:  Get ready for a new shipping experience in QuickBooks Desktop.

Once you already have the new update and finish downloading it, learn how to set it up by following the steps outlined in this article: Get Started with the new Shipping Manager in QuickBooks Desktop.

Thank you for your understanding and patience during this period of change. If you have more questions or concerns about utilizing the shipping capabilities in QuickBooks, never hesitate to leave a reply below. We are committed to provide you with the best possible service.

We have been using the old ship manager for 24.0 and received this pop-up last week on 5/23 when trying to ship. I updated again today, 5/28, and now the pop-up no longer appears. I'm curious if the deadline has been extended. We did try out the "new" shipping manager, and would have to say it was a very terrible experience.

Right away (for FedEx and USPS) I've noticed there were no options to create multiple boxes per shipment, no reference fields to use for the carrier label (we typically insert PO numbers and SKU numbers), no option for 3rd party billing, and our stamps.com balance did not reflect (when shown "connected" in the settings) when trying to use USPS as a carrier. We also had issues connecting our UPS account to the new shipping manager, which we did not have the opportunity to experience, but I would assume it would yield the same outcome as with FedEx and USPS. I hope they work this all out before cutting us off from the old shipping manager.

We're you forced to enter a credit card when setting up the new ship station/engine?

We don't use USPS and are on terms with UPS/FEDEX and billed separately.

I don't want to put my Credit Card in for this garbage, but I can't proceed with the update without it!

I updated QBD. It's not showing the pop-up window RE: the new ship manager, etc.

I wonder if Intuit bailed on it.

Dang..... I actually had the new Ship Manager set up and working. Its clunky, but it was working. Then I logged out of QB and logged back in, and now it won't work.

I'm getting this response when I try to open it....

I'm getting this response when I try to open it... "You do not have the access to perform this action. To complete this, request for access from your Primary Admin"

The new shipping manager will need to have admin full access to complete the setup process, TimL. I'll provide more details below about the error you've encountered.

Once you logged out and logged back into QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT), your profile's access to that feature may have been revoked. That said, you'll need to reach out to your Primary Admin so they can restore your access to the Shipping Manager.

The requirement for a CC is questionable; I need to use my UPS account or my Customer UPS account to ship with, and multiple packages. The ShipEngine site says that the Free version, you cannot use your accounts only their account, However, for $75/month you can use your own account?

Does this new system require a $75/month just to use your own UPS/FedEx accounts? I do not care about USPS, we ship with yet another vendor outside of QB.

Are their other options for exporting the shipping info to a different app and export/import the tracking info on QBDT

We are on Enterprise 24; been with QBDT for about 20 years.

Looking at the new shipping manager supplier website, they seem to be in a change themselves; as being bought out by a new company before Qucikbooks is able to implement the system under the old name.

@ShyMae @ShangY @Jeff_S @Nicole_N
Can you please address some of these questions in this thread? Here are some:
1. Can it ship multiple packages?
2. Can we use our customers' accounts?

3. Can we use OUR negotiated rates and not ShipEngine's rates?

Please, please, PLEASE just either answer the questions or say you don't know. None of us here need additional links. None of us are getting any information through the QB help method.

I am 100% in the same boat.  I need all of the exact same questions answered.  I ship anywhere from 40-60 packages a day via UPS, using QB enterprise for the past 15 years, and it is basically useless right now.  This shipping issue has hindered my workflow so much right now, I am actively searching for QB alternatives.  I have 30 users on my account too, so I am paying a small fortune for software that doesn't work.  I was ASSURED by support that I would get a call back on Monday with a solution - still nothing.  Add that on to the dozens of unresolved, open trouble tickets I have had and still have from over the years.  This may be the last straw for me.
