On login Quickbooks will occasionally freeze and show a grey screen indefinitely

When I login to QuickBooks Desktop Pro 2021 in multi-user mode, I get this blank grey screen occasionally.  The main quickbooks file is hosted on another Desktop and shared via our local wifi network.

Sometimes QuickBooks works fine and operates as intended. Other times I get this issue and can't get anywhere past logging in. Other times I log in and the program runs at a snails pace.

I'm not sure what's causing the issue as I am connected to the issue via Ethernet cable. I suspect it has something to do with the way the QuickBooks file is being stored and/or shared? I'm not sure. Please help.

Let's get QuickBooks up and running, Graham5446.

This looks like a program-related issue. We have a few steps that you can try to fix it.

For the detailed steps, you can check this article: QuickBooks Desktop doesn't start or won't open.

Wow!!! I think it worked. Since running the tools from the QB tool hub application, it's been running pretty smoothly. I'm a little skeptical because it would work smoothly for short periods of time before as well but it has been consistent all day today so that's definitely an improvement.

I'll let you know if anything changes!

Thank you so much! This makes my life a lot easier.
