Printing checks

Checks print with a bunch of stars in the "Pay to the order of" and into the space for the numeral.

Is there a way to reduce the number of stars on the check?

The problem is when someone tries a mobile upload to deposit the check into an account, the mobile app doesn't read the numeral correctly and rejects the upload.

Any words of wisdom?

    Hi @BarbC,

     

    I'll share some information about printing checks. Currently, the option to remove spaces or reduce the stars on check is unavailable. I can see how important it is to have the availability to do this on checks. I'll be taking notes about this so our Developers will know that this is something they need to consider adding. Rest assured, they're working nonstop to enhance the product and deliver the best experience for all QuickBooks users.

     

    You can also send a product suggestion by going to Help then selecting Send Feedback Online, and then clicking Product Suggestion.

    Has this been remedied?    I'm having the same problem and customers are starting to get annoyed with not being able to do mobile depositing.

        The presence of multiple asterisks is an important security feature in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT), Janet. However, I recognize the challenges it poses for your mobile deposits. 

         

        The asterisks serve as a built-in security measure designed to help prevent fraud. Currently, it isn't possible to adjust or reduce the number of asterisks when printing checks in QBDT.

         

        We recognize how essential it is for your checks to be easily readable for mobile banking. I encourage you to share your insights with our product development team. Your feedback is valuable and will be considered for enhancements in future updates.

        1. Click the Help menu located at the top.

        Has it been QB been updated to remove the asterisk ** before the number when printing a check?
