When they started with QB and were adding the products the person did a blanket change to have all of the products taxable which is not correct. Is there a way to change every item that says taxable to non-taxable?

Welcome to the Community, @accountingnwt

When adding Products and Services to QuickBooks Online, you can select or edit the tax status, whether taxable or nontaxable.

I can assist you with changing the taxable items to nontaxable on the Product and Services page. To do this, you'll need to manually edit the items and switch their tax status from taxable to nontaxable. Here's how:

  1. Go to Sales and choose Products & Services.
  2. Click Edit next to the item you want to assign a tax category.
  3. Select Edit sales tax.
  4. On the Other options section, choose whether the product is Taxable-based on location only or Nontaxable.
  5. Hit Done, then Save and close.

If you want to learn how to set up, edit, or deactivate sales tax rates, you can read and review this article for guidance and information: Set up your sales tax in QuickBooks Online.

Thanks for the information. I was hoping I could make the changes in bulk. I have another 39,642 to change. I have been working on these items and definitely changing when our invoices show that tax has been applied.
