Providing an Itemized invoice that does not show mark up %

I'd like to be able to provide customers with an itemized invoice when they ask but don't want to share our mark up % on materials used. How do I make this happen? 

 

I have QB desktop premier plus contractor edition 2023. I've tried googling and the FAQs, called Intuit support and was disconnected. I've requested a call back and they call with no one on the other line.

Let me assist you today so you can hide the markup added on invoices in QuickBooks Desktop.

 

To provide your customers with an itemized invoice that's not showing the markup, you'll want to check the Print selected time and costs as one invoice item. However, this option only applies when printing them. Thus, your customers can only view the total amount of the billable expenses and the markup value with its description.

 

Here's how you can do it:

 

  1. Navigate to the Customer menu and click on Create Invoices.
  2. From the drop-down menu, select Customer: Job. 
  3. Click the Add Time/Costs tab.
  4. On the Choose Billable Time and Costs window, go to the Expense tab and choose the item expense you want to mark up. 
  5. Check the Print selected time and costs as invoice item.
  6. Once done, click Save.
