Question

QB 2018 - I'm asked to sign into my Intuit account, but can't

Upon signing into my QB 2018 desktop pro, I am asked to sign into my Intuit account. I have the choice to either select admin or non-admin (neither get me further in the process). Once I click admin and enter my credentials, the next screen is the 4 dots that rotate. They'll do that for hours and won't continue to the next step. Eventually, I close QB and select the option to delay signing in for a period of time. What happens if I never do because of this glitch?

If you can't sign in to your Intuit Account, you'll lose access to associated services like Payments, Payroll (Direct Deposit and Workforce), and more, Sonja. Below are the troubleshooting steps you can take to successfully log in to your Intuit account.

First, ensure you have an active internet connection to log in to your Intuit account. If your connection is stable, use the QuickBooks Tool Hub, which helps resolve common QuickBooks Desktop issues. Here’s how:

  1. Close your QuickBooks.
  2. Download the recent version (1.6.0.8) of the QuickBooks Tool Hub and save it where you can access easily.
  3. If you've previously installed the Tool Hub, check your current version by selecting the Home tab. The version will be displayed at the bottom
  4. Open the file downloaded file named QuickBooksToolHub.exe.
  5. Follow the on-screen steps to install and agree to the terms and conditions.
  6. After installation, double-click the icon on your Windows desktop to open the tool hub.
  7. In the QuickBooks Tools Hub, select Program Problems to run a quick repair on your program.

If the issue persists after you've followed the steps above, you can proceed to Solution 2 and other solutions in this article: QuickBooks Desktop won't open.

Once you have successfully accessed your Intuit account, it's a wise security practice to regularly update or modify your sign-in information. Regular updates to your login credentials help safeguard your account from unauthorized access and potential security breaches.

I'm looking forward to your reply if you need additional assistance accessing your Intuit account. Rest assured, I'll respond promptly and am always willing to lend a hand.

@Jessavell_A  "If you can't sign in to your Intuit Account, you'll lose access to associated services like Payments, Payroll (Direct Deposit and Workforce), and more, Sonja."

@SonjaMY  has QuickBooks 2018.

I think we're a little past that being a going concern. Frankly, I'm a little surprised it's even asking them to sign in.

At any rate, if memory serves, 2018 falls into the 'standalone product' category. About the only downside to not being able to sign in is that it'll keep annoying you to do so every so often.
