I am having major issues with a conversion from online to 2023 that QB's did for me last week.  They sold me on 2023 and now all my data is all screwed up.  I have invoice from 2007 that say past due.  I have no time to go in and input these things 1 at a time.  Any help would be greatly appreviated

I got you, @usercrab. Let me make it up to you regarding the payment unlink of your invoices in QuickBooks Desktop.

The payments likely were unapplied if you moved your data from QuickBooks Online to QuickBooks Desktop.

When you transfer your paid invoices from QuickBooks Online to QuickBooks Desktop for Mac, the payment is automatically unapplied. This case usually happens when converting your data because of the feature and interface differences.

In this case, we need to relink the payment one at a time since doing this by batch is unavailable in QuickBooks Desktop for Mac.

Follow the steps below on how to relink the payments:

  1. Select Customers from the top menu bar.
  2. Choose Receive Payments.
  3. Under the Received from the drop-down menu, select the appropriate customer.
  4. Tick the checkbox of the invoices you want to close and click the Discounts and Credits icon.
  5. Choose the credit on the Credits tab to apply and then hit Done.
  6. You may see a prompt to confirm the transfer. If you do, select Yes
  7. Click Save & Close to complete the process.

Additionally, for more information on ways to track client transactions in QuickBooks Desktop, I suggest reading this article: Accounts Receivable Process Guide.

Do I need to do this for every single invoice?  It'll take me a month if that's the case

Thank you for getting back regarding the invoices in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) Mac.

Yes, you’re right. You will need to work on it for every single invoice. I understand how this can be time-consuming on your part. That said, I recommend you utilize a third-party application that supports integration with QuickBooks.

I’m always here to assist you in case you have further concerns with QuickBooks. Stay safe!
