QB Desktop Enterprise Mfg - Advanced Inventory Setup not reflecting Purchase Order additions

Hello,

 

I need clarity on how Advanced Inventory is handled.

 

From Lists > Item Lists I have built assembly products. When I run a Stock Status by Item Report some are showing negative numbers.

 

I see there is another option to build assembly products in Vendors > Inventory Activities > Build Assemblies. Should I have done it in there instead?

 

Also, some Items were set up as Assemblies that included other Assembly Items. Could that be the problem?

 

It looks like it is deducting inventory based on Sales Orders that have been converted to Invoices, but it is not ADDING in inventory from the Purchase Orders or Item Receipts.

 

Company Preferences: inventory and purchase orders are active.

When calculating Quantity Available for Pending Builds for my inventory, deduct:

Quantity reserved for Pending Builds - checked - Do pending builds mean Items on Estimates?

 

Quantity on Sales Orders are both - checked - It seems that only this should be checked.

Maintaining accurate inventory counts and improving your inventory management processes within QuickBooks is our top priority, trelfalabs.

 

In QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT), you can create assembly products either through the Item List or via Build Assemblies under Vendors > Inventory Activities.

 

When you run a Stock Status by Item Report, it will show negative numbers if you sell more items than you have in stock. This often happens when sales transactions are recorded before the corresponding purchase transactions are entered into QuickBooks.

 

Yes, it's true that when a sales order is converted into an invoice, QuickBooks automatically deducts the items sold from your inventory. 

 

However,  If purchase orders are created but not converted into bills or item receipts, QuickBooks will not recognize the incoming inventory. Although you expect new stock, it won’t be reflected in your available quantities.
