Question

QBO custom invoicing and data mapping with csv file upload

I use QBO Essentials:

I am trying to edit the mapping fields for quickbooks to match the custom fields I created for invoicing so I can upload from a .csv file.  1. I created a custom invoice template in QuickBooks Online which includes 2 custom fields. 2. I followed the steps to upload my data in a .csv file. 3. When I get to the mapping step in the process, the custom fields I created are not available. So my question is...can I edit the invoice mapping fields to match the custom fields I created in QBO? Is that feature available in a higher version?

I'm here to provide insights regarding custom invoicing and data mapping with CSV file uploads in QuickBooks Online, @drocktexas.

I understand the importance of aligning your custom fields with the mapping process to ensure seamless data integration. Currently, the option to edit the invoice mapping fields is unavailable in any QuickBooks Online version.

You can also review this link to learn the available column headers: Import multiple invoices at once in QuickBooks Online.

To ensure it receives attention from our product engineers, I suggest using the feedback option, enabling us to enhance the program's features accordingly.

Here's how:

  1. Navigate to the Gear icon at the top.
  2. Click Feedback.
  3. Enter your comments or product suggestions.
  4. Then select Next to submit feedback.

Additionally, I'll be sharing the following articles to help personalize and manage your invoices in QBO:

Thank you for your patience while we work on this. Feel at ease to get back to this thread if you have other concerns with QuickBooks. I'll be more than happy to help. Please take care.

I am also looking for this with large imports of invoices for billing. I need to be able to edit the custom fields from my CSV file, but I haven't found a way yet.
