QBO for Educators/Students
First, let me say that QuickBooks has absolutely horrendous customer service. For one of the top-used software platforms, this is appalling!
We teach Quickbooks Online for Accountants using the curriculum with the same name published through Cengage. Last fall, we were able to easily help students sign up for a free QBO account to complete their coursework. We are just starting our new students and now are unable to do the same. Between myself, students and parents, we have spent well over 40 hours, collectively, trying to solve what appears to be an unsolvable problem.
The website: https://www.intuit.com/ca/partners/education-program/registration/student-quickbooks-online/, which we have always used to register students, only lists Canadian schools now. Clicking on the top right drop-down menu to select United States directs us to https://www.intuit.com/partners/education-program/, which is zero help.
I already have my institution email tied to QBO for Accountants, and when I try to use it to set up the new Educator Portal, I am obviously unable to because it is already in use. The only "semi-helpful" information I can find is that I need to first set up Educator Portal, then send invitations to each of my students, rather than the students registering independently as was done in the past.
1- All Intuit/QuickBooks chat supports regretfully inform me that they don't offer support for the educator accounts and point me in the direction of this website: https://www.intuit.com/partners/education-program/support/#student
2- Support for Education does not provide a phone number or chat support in any way. (However, I was able to contact the Canadian helpline for Educators, was given a number that supposedly took me to the U.S. support for educators, but was simply QuickBooks Online support who told me they were unable to help with the educator/student information.
3- We have been prompted to send an email to support that goes unanswered
4- Any and all websites with HELPFUL information is Canadian-based, and does not have the resources needed for U.S. customers.
This post is my last-ditch effort to try and generate some kind of help from Intuit QuickBooks.
