Question

QBO freezes when saving an estimate

QuickBooks Online freezes after editing and trying to save an estimate. I have tried "save" and "print and download". Neither work. If I make a copy of the estimate and save that though, it works. In other words, I can only save an estimate once (if I go in to edit it an existing estimate, then I can't save it). The screen just sits in "saving" mode forever. If I try to back out of it, it gives me the "Leave without Saving" prompt.

I have tried-

*logging out and logging back in

*restarting computer

*clearing cache of browser and mac

*using incognito mode

*using a different browser

*using a different computer

*using a different wifi

*using a different account linked to the same quickbooks

Open to any suggestions.

Hi @allytlvic, thanks for reaching out and letting us know about this frustrating issue with saving estimates in QuickBooks Online. It sounds like you've done some great troubleshooting already!

I understand how important it is to save your work and keep your business running smoothly. I've checked with our team, and it appears we're currently looking into reports of estimates freezing when saving.

To help us get a better understanding of what's happening and get you back on track, I recommend contacting our live support experts. They have the tools to take a closer look at your account and add you to the list of affected users. This way, you'll receive email updates as soon as we have a fix in place.

Here's how to reach them:

  1. Click the Help icon in the top right corner of QuickBooks Online.
  2. Choose Search, then select the Contact Us button.
  3. Enter a brief description of the issue and click Continue.

Please scroll through Support Hours and select QuickBooks Online on this article so you can reach us at your convenience, and we can address your concerns promptly: Get help with QuickBooks products and services.

In the meantime, you can continue to copy the Estimate to save it. Another workaround to avoid freezing is filling in the template's body first, choosing the customer name last, and then saving the entry.

After your customer receives it, you can link that into an invoice by following this reference: Convert an estimate into an invoice in QuickBooks Online.

Once everything is fixed, refer to this material for your guide in collecting receivables and then registering them into the system: Record invoice payments in QuickBooks Online.

We appreciate your patience while we work to resolve this! Let me know if you have any other questions.
