QBO Product/Service Modal on Invoice Display Issue

We have recently experienced a change in the way the "product/service" dropdown is displaying our product options when we are adding line items on an invoice being created. The "product/service" dropdown is now forcing the product name and the product description into the modal and resulting in our inability to see the desired product name without hovering over the "?" to the right of the truncated product. I have widened the product/service input on the invoice detail and that helps some but still not without requiring inefficient steps. When we do select the product it presents in the invoice by correctly separating the product name and description in the appropriate columns.

 

This appears to be a recent change and is impacting all of our QBO entities.

Questions:

Anyone having the same issue?

Does anyone know of another update to the invoices module that may have caused this?

Anyone aware of a roll-back to the invoices module that may have caused this?

If not, any ideas why this would have just changed from yesterday?

 

We have recently onboarded bill.com but have created invoices in qbo between bill onboarding and today. Additionally, when I look at the product/service dropdown on an invoice in bill.com, the products show correctly and as expected.

 

Any help troubleshooting this would be greatly appreciated.

To clearly see the product names when creating an invoice is very important to get everything done on time, @jbaxiss. I understand how frustrating this change can be when it affects your workflow. I'm here to provide a workaround to help you view the product names more easily.

 

The product name and description are both showing in the Product/Service dropdown since it is a working design in the invoice. In the meantime, you can widen the Product/Service column to see the product name as a workaround.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Navigate to + New, then select the Invoice.

     
  2. Drag the Product/Service column to the right to widen.

 

By doing the steps above, we can see the product names clearly, which can help us choose the right products.
            

 

To get back to the old design in the Product/service dropdown that only shows the names of the product. I highly recommend submitting feedback to our Product Engineers for potential future enhancements. Allow me to guide you through providing feedback.

 

Please follow the steps below:

 

  1. Navigate to the Gear icon.
  2. Select Feedback.
  3. Enter your product suggestion.
  4. Click Next to submit.
