Question

QBO Simple Start invoice customize

A client wants her QBO simple start invoice template to look EXACTLY like her QB Desktop invoice. I customized one to look very similar, except that we cannot move the source and target sections, so they are spread out over the whole eight-by-eleven letterhead she uses. There is one-third of the paper with a blank space. The invoice information is mostly on the top 2/3rds of the page.

How can we spread the information to be more spatially correct on the full page?

Hi there, Beckyfair625.

I recommend customizing or editing the invoice template by adjusting the page margins and column widths based on your preference. This is done to spread the information to be more spatially correct on the target page.

Here's how for page margin:

  1. Click the Gear icon at the upper right corner.
  2. Choose Custom form styles.
  3. Click the New style button and choose Invoice. You can also locate the created one.
  4. Go to the Design section and select Edit print settings.
  5. Adjust the TopLeftBottom, and Right in the Page margins.

Then, follow these steps on how to modify the widths:

  1. Go to the Content button.
  2. Click the Edit labels and widths link.
  3. Adjust the labels.

Moreover, you can also change the template style so that you can choose your preferred set of text formatting characteristics such as font size, type, alignment, and spacing. You can read this article for more details: Customize invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online.
