Quickbooks Desktop 2021 Inventory part item "Sales Price" change?

Hello everyone!
I am using Quickbooks Desktop 2021 for MAC.

I need help with a question:
I am selling some postcards wholesale for $1.25 and I need to change the wholesale "Sales Price" from $1.25 to $1.00 moving forward.
Is it safe to change the "Sales Price" of an inventory part item?  Can changing this affect orders from last year?  What is the best way to do this?

I am attaching an example screenshot of this to show you.
Thank you in advance for your time!
Bill

Yes, it’s safe to edit your item without affecting past orders, @billhdz.

You can modify your items at any time. Please know that changes will only apply to your current or new transactions. Open your inventory item as shown on the screenshot, then update the sales price.

Here’s an article that contains information about managing your items in QuickBooks Desktop for Mac: Add, edit, and delete items.

Thanks @MadelynC ,

That makes sense.  I was talking to a bookkeeper that uses Quickbooks and she was telling me to

"Create another separate cost and rename it something else" OR

to "change the name in the Item List to a different name",

but that just didn't make much sense to me.   This can probably mess everything up or make things more complicated.

Your answer makes more sense to me.

Thanks!
