Quickbooks desktop

My PC was just down for 6 days - I have a single user license.  IF I purchase a backup computer am I able to load and access QB desktop from the backup computer?  If would be the same IP address just a different PC?

    Thank You!  

    With this answer I will purchase a laptop for a backup.  So IF I have problems with my desktop in the future I would be able to load the current QBDT data onto the laptop from a UBS drive.  And since I really prefer using the desktop PC I could make a backup from the laptop and restore to the desktop and there are no issues?

    Would I be able to restore from the Intuit Data Backup that is done nightly?

    Just an FYI but to further complicate my problems I have two licenses on my desktop for different clients, one is 2022 and the other is 2023.  I think I will need help upgrading the 2022 to 2023 since QB thinks it has upgraded already.

      Allow me to join you here and quickly answer your questions about retrieving data, brendastarr.

       

      Yes, you just need yo create backup copy from your laptop and restore it in the desktop. You can also restore the file from your Intuit Data Protect account. 

       

      Here's how:

       

      1. Go to the compute where IDP is set up.
      2. Open Intuit Data Protect from your task bar.
      3. Select Restore from Backup.
      4. Look and select the files that you need to restore. You will see all the versions of your files available for restoring.
      5. Click Continue and restore.
