Quickbooks Desktop and Outlook (New)

Trying to get a straight answer on the following:

 

Quickbooks Desktop and sending email via Outlook.


Client has the "New" outlook enabled and Quickbooks sending email via Outlook was not working. Switched to "Old" Outlook and it started working again.


Is the "new" outlook supported? Is there something special you need to do to get it to work?

If it is not supported, is there an ETA?

I'm here to ensure your client can successfully send email using the updated Outlook in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT), @Blyons.

 

Before that, let's make sure that they're using the latest version of QBDT so we can see to it that these programs can work together seamlessly.

 

The latest Outlook update is now compatible with QBDT. However, we have received reports from users that they are unable to send emails through our program after the update. Fortunately, Windows has released a solution to this problem. I can assist you in resolving this issue.

 

  1.  Open a Command Prompt (right-click, Run as administrator). 
  2. Type and paste this registry command and press Enter: reg add HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\office\16.0\common\officeupdate /v updatebranch /t REG_SZ /d Current 
  3. Go to File, then Office Account. Once there, click the Update Options, then Update Now. Finally, close your Outlook until the channel change is completed. 
  4.  To switch back to the Current Channel Preview later, use the same steps with the registry key in the article.
