I need to upgrade my computer and am wondering if QuickBooks Desktop Pro 2021 will work with Windows 11?  I have searched the community, but so far have only found threads that are nearly a year old.  Where can I find out?

Thanks!

Lori

Thanks for getting back to us, @PEStaffing.

Currently, we're unable to provide a specific timeframe when this will be implemented. Rest assured Intuit is working to ensure QuickBooks Desktop 2021 products will work as designed with Windows 11. We intend to complete the compatibility certification process soon. It may take some time because our engineers are making sure there will be no problem in the long run.

Hi there, @PEStaffing

Let me share some information about QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) system requirements.

The current supported operating systems for running QBDT are still the following:

  • Windows 10, all editions including 64-bit, natively installed
  • Windows 8.1, all editions including 64-bit, natively installed
  • Windows Server 2019, Standard and Essentials
  • Windows Server 2016, Standard and Essentials
  • Windows Server 2012 R2, Standard and Essentials
  • Windows Server 2012, Standard and Essentials

Currently, Windows 11 is not yet certified as fully compatible with  QBDT 2021 version. Though you can still use QBDT on Windows 11, but you may encounter some issues. Also, QuickBooks requires you to use Windows natively and not through an emulator or virtual environment.

For additional info, you may refer to this article: QuickBooks Desktop Microsoft Windows 11 Compatibility.

I've added a link where you can check the operating system, hardware, software, and other system requirements for QBDT 2021: System requirements for QuickBooks Desktop 2021.

Thank you for your response. Do you have any idea how long it will take for QBDT to be certified as fully compatible with Windows 11?
