QuickBooks Online Built In Calculator

When entering information into QuickBooks Online fields, I am able to utilize simple math functions in order to calculate the desired answer.  For example, typing 100/2 will yield a result of 50 when I tab over to the next input box.  However, as of a recent software update, the system will not recognize decimals that utilize 0 (ZERO) anywhere in their input.  For example, if I type 100/0.1, the calculator will break and just return a zero answer when finished.  If I type 100/.1, the calculator works properly and returns the answer 1000.  This indicates that the 0 in the 0.1 input breaks the command.  Additionally, if I try to divide a number by 6% and type 100/.06, the zero in the .06 input also breaks the command and simply returns zero.  Is there a workaround or a fix for this?

Good morning, @MCT3378

Thanks for coming to the QuickBooks Community with your question about the built in calculator.

Since this was a working feature before, I recommend using a private browser or incognito window to help eliminate any errors or glitches that may be occurring in the system.

Here's how depending on your browser session:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Internet Explorer/Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safar: Command + Shift + N

If this works, go back to your regular session and clear your browser's history. If not, let's try using another supported browser.

Please reach back out to let us know how this goes. We're always here to lend a helping hand. Take care!

Per your recommendation, I tried this in private / incognito browsing on Chrome, Firefox, and Edge, and all browsers yielded the same result.  As soon as a zero was typed into the field following the " / " sign for division, the input box immediately restarted to $0.00.
