I want to process credit cards with the card reader, but it will not hook up directly with quickbooks online on the desktop. I have chatted/ phone convo/ emailed. No one can really tell me what's going on, or if the gopayment app they tell me I need will charge additional fees on top of the quickbooks online fees to process credit cards.

QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Payments are two separate programs, Mowersale. Let me explain it further.

QuickBooks Payments is an add-on service that we can connect to QuickBooks Online. This add-on allows us to process credit card payments. We can follow the process in this article: Receive and process payments.

When availing the service, different rates are applied based on the payment method used. You can compare the rates on this link: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/payments/payment-rates/.

Meanwhile, card readers have their own features compatible to the process and app you want to use. Check out this link for more details: Card reader features and compatibility.

Once you start receiving and processing payments electronically, you'll also have to learn when to process and their deposit schedules: Find out when QuickBooks Payments deposits customer payments.

Lastly, these payments will reflect on your Online banking, categorize them, and reconcile your accounts.

Feel free to reach out with any further questions or if you need clarification regarding the process of receiving credit card payments.
