Quickbooks PC Desktop to MAC

If I am running Quickbooks Desktop and what to TRY to run it on a MAC - if I do a COPY QUICKBOOKS FOR MAC. Will I still be able to open the PC Desktop file? (((YES I HAVE QUICKBOOKS ON THE MAC just never used it.))

Or does making that COPY QUICKBOOKS FOR MAC

In case something goes wrong.

You can create a copy of your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) Windows company file for use on a Mac. Please know that you can still access the original file on your PC or Windows Desktop after copying it. Additionally, this process can only be done from QBDT Pro, Premier, or Premier Accountant versions.

The first thing you need to do is create a back-up company file so that whatever happens to your file during the process, you have the original copy. After that, start creating a company file copy for QBDT Mac.

Feel free to follow these steps:

Update QuickBooks for Desktop for Windows to the latest release.
Ensure you open the file as the administrator.
Select Utilities from the File menu. Then, click Copy Company File for QuickBooks Mac. Once done, follow the on-screen steps.
After that, QuickBooks will create a MAC.qbb (backup) file. A message will show stating "It looks like ‘QuickBooks for Windows’ might be a better fit for your company." Make sure to check what data isn’t converted from Windows. If you want to continue, select Yes.
Go to the folder where you want to save the file. Name the file and select Save. Make sure not to use special characters in the file name.
Move the file to your Mac using any storage device, such as a USB flash drive, etc.

The "Copy Company File for QuickBooks Mac" Option is not available on my Windows desktop. Do I need to adjust some setting to make this option show up?

The Copy Company File for QuickBooks Mac option is only available for QuickBooks Desktop Pro and Premiere versions.
