Quickbooks Subscription

I am a Quickbooks desktop user since1996. I have gone through multiple  updates, etc. Two years ago Quickbooks  switched to a subscription based service. I subscribed. Biggest  mistake in business for 27 years. Should not have done it but it is done now, so we are here.

 

I am looking at starting a new file using Qbooks online and  not importing  the  existing file. There is many things in the  existing file not needed any longer. Business changes.

 

If I do not renew the existing desktop subscription, I can access my file in view only mode. That is ok as I will be using online. The question is, will I be  able  to run reports? In case of an audit, I need to be able to access the data. Not change  the data but access it and run reports.

 

Can I run reports with  a desktop subscription version of quickbooks  2023 after the subscription runs out and is not renewed.

I can not view the data after 365 days? After the 365 days I am not able to view anything or run reports?

Yes.

 

You should contact Fiat Lux to have a workaround to access your historical data for good.


Very poor on Quckbooks part. Turn off access  to the file after 365 days. The US government is presently auditing 3 years back. So if an audit occurs you can not access your data at that time. I am not writing about entering new data, I am writing about accessing it. This is black mail. Terrible they are doing this. I  have used it since 1996. Will be moving  to a new platform for future accounting. C

You can only access your company file in read only mode for one year. We have a workaround to access your historical data in regular mode for good if required. Contact me in private for details.

Yes, you'll be able to run reports after your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) subscription ends, icauto. We'll provide further information about this below.

 

You'll have view-only access (for one year) to your data after your subscription expires. During this time, you can view reports but won't be able to edit your file or create any transactions. With this, we recommend exporting your data before this happens for future use. To do this, here's how:

 

  1. Go to Reports, then Reports Center.
  2. Find and double-click the report you want to export.
  3. Select the Excel dropdown, then Create New Worksheet or Update Existing Worksheet.
  4. If you see a message that says your report has too many columns, select Advanced, then uncheck the Space between columns checkbox and click OK.
  5. When you’re ready to export, select OK.
