Greetings,

I have a total amount of $35,546.69 of funds being withheld in QBO.  My question is am I able to reconcile my accounts in QBO while awaiting for QBO to fix and discover why my payments are being withheld? Can I remove those amounts from the month I am trying to reconcile in order to balance out my accounts. Please advise, beyond frustrated.

Thank you,

Teretha S

I appreciate you for bringing this to our attention, terethaf. I recognize how funds being held affect your balances and reconciliation process when handling accounts in your file. Let me share insights to help you manage financial amounts, so you can start reconciling them for the month.

I know that a business needs money to run efficiently. Therefore, receiving payments faster is really important. However, there are instances where QuickBooks holds payments if we see something unexpected in them. Since these are included in your month's balances, reconciling them while these are being held can cause discrepancies in your data.

If this isn't the first time you've processed your payments, I recommend contacting our QuickBooks Payments team to further seek updates on your funds. This way, they can provide additional assistance to help you keep going in reconciling your account. To help you do this, follow the steps below if you have QuickBooks Online with Payments & Merchant Service Center:

  1. In your QBO file, go to the Help (?) icon and select Contact Us.
  2. Enter your concern, then select Let's Talk.
  3. Choose Start a chat with a support expert.

Once everything's ready, you can start reconciling your accounts, so they always match your bank and credit card statements. Also, I've included this guide to help you learn the reconciliation processes: Learn the reconcile workflow in QuickBooks.

I'm always ready to back you up if there's anything else you want me to help you with. I'll keep this thread available, so you can leave a reply below. Keep safe and have a good one!
