Record transactions of materials purchases

Our company does pool maintenance and repairs. Sometimes repair service includes having to purchase and replace a specific part. We do not really have an inventory since the parts that are purchased are used at that specific time of the repair and are purchases that are made only when they are necessary. How do I record those types of purchases in Quickbooks?

Let me guide you on recording the purchased parts used during a specific repair in your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account.

You can record these material purchases as Non-inventory items, where they're untracked, as these acquisitions are bought only for a specific use and when needed.

Here's how:

On the left panel of your QBO account, select Sales.
Choose Product & Services, then click the New tab.
Pick the Non-inventory section, then fill out the necessary information of your item as needed.
Mark check the box in the Description section as this item sold to your customer and fill out the necessary details. You can also mark-check the Purchasing Information if you have purchased the item from a vendor.
Once done, click Save and close.
