Recovering lost data - *.adr file does not exist
I have had my IT guy have a look at my QuickBooks after it encountered an error. Last backup was 3 months ago (sorry) so we could not make use of the restore function. After a backup-and-rebuild, we were presented with a rebuild report that highlighted several issues. One of those was the following:
Verify Primary: totTrans wrong. Is ### should be ###.
When we followed the instructions for correcting this issue without a pre-error backup file,
The fifth step talks about finding the *.adr file. We have that directory, and four files within that directory, but none of them are pure *.adr files. They have the following extensions:
- *.ADR.old
- *.ADR.old1
- *.TLG.ADR.old
- *.TLG.ADR.old1
My IT tech has unhidden all files and folders, and we cannot see any evidence of a *.ADR file without any further extensions on the end. The instructions on the help page explicitly instruct us to use a *.ADR file, without any "old" on the end.
Looking for any help and further instructions. TIA.
