Recurring transacions

How do I get rid of a memorized transaction that does appear on the memorized list - how can I get rid of it?

This memorized transaction did not appear on the list, so I could not remove it with those directions.

I did get rid of the memorized transaction by running --> File --> Utilities --> Verify data. This got rid of it, but I could not run the rebuild data, the backup kept failing.

Getting rid of a memorized transaction from your list is quick and easy, Steve.

You can go to the List menu and delete it from there. To do so, follow the steps outlined below:

  1. Go to the List menu, then select Memorized Transaction List.
  2. Locate the transaction that you want to get rid of.
  3. Right-click the transaction, then choose Delete Memorized Transaction.
  4. Click OK.

Aside from the transactions, you can also memorize reports to be available for future use. When memorizing a report, QuickBooks saves only the report settings. Review this article for more information: Create, Access, and Modify Memorized Reports.

Please get back to us if you have questions about memorized transactions or any transaction entered in QuickBooks. We'll always be right here to help. Have a nice day ahead!

Hi, Steve.

Thank you for detailing your concern about the memorized transaction you can't remove. Before anything else, could you please provide me with the error message that appears when you attempt to run the rebuild data? This could help us pinpoint the issue easily.

To proceed, let us update your QuickBooks Desktop to its latest release. It will ensure fixes to any bugs, security patches are applied, and the software remains compliant and compatible with other programs.

To enhance your experience, I highly recommend using Tool Hub on Windows 10, 64-bit. Here are some steps that can help you learn how to use different QuickBooks Desktop tools to fix any problems or errors that may occur:

  1. Close QuickBooks first. Then download the most recent version (1.6.0.3) of the QuickBooks Tool Hub. Save the file somewhere you can easily find it (like your Downloads folder or your Windows desktop).
  2. Select the Home tab. The version will be on the bottom.
  3. Open the file you download (QuickBooksToolHub.exe).
  4. Follow the on-screen steps to install and agree to the terms and conditions. When the installation finishes, double-check the icon on your Windows desktop to open the tool hub.

You can refer to this article for the following steps: Fix common problems and errors with the QuickBooks Desktop Tool Hub.
