Would like to run a report on Projects by Project Type. Would like to be able to categorize projects by Type, not just Customers. Some of our Customers have multiple Projects of different Types.

Hi there, Renee.

QBO offers various reporting options, such as the Project Profitability Report and Sales by Customer Detail Report. However, these reports typically focus on financial performance rather than pulling up projects report by type directly.

Alternatively, you can use a third-party application that has this feature to be able to run the specific report you wanted. Otherwise, you can also create a customized spreadsheet that categorizes your projects by type and includes information about the customers associated with each project.

Additionally, you can also help us improve our services to every QuickBooks users by sending us feedback about the feature you desired. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Select Feedback.
  3. Enter a brief description of your product suggestion.
  4. Click Next to submit feedback.

Furthermore, you can also consider tracking your costs and profitability by projects in QuickBooks Online. You'll see a snapshot of your income, costs, and profit margin in the header of every project page after setting them up.

If you need help with tracking hourly labor costs and profitability by projects in QBO, Renee, let me know. We're always ready to help.
