Sales Receipt Entry Issue

For the last few weeks, the amount field will occasionally blank out either when I move to the next field or when I click to save the entire sales receipt.   It seems like it does this for about one in every four or five sales receipts.   Sometimes, I'll see it and catch it right away.   Other times when I go to post an entire batch, there will be entries with zero dollars.  I just did a batch of 48 checks with 6 of them showing zero amounts on part or all f the receipt.

In the meantime, let's check if this is a browser-related matter. Let's access your QBO account via a private window, as this ignores historical data. Sometimes, too many cached files on your browser can become corrupted and result in unusual behavior.

 

To begin with, here's how to access your account in different private browsers using their shortcut keys:

 

  • Safari: Command + Shift + N
  • Google Chrome: CTRL + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox or Microsoft Edge: CTRL + Shift + P

 

If you can now create and save sales receipts entries without issues, let's return to your regular browser and clear its cache to refresh. As an alternative, consider switching to a different supported browser.
