Salesforce connector to QBO - how are invoice numbers applied

Wondering if we create a custom field on Salesforce Opportunities that assigns an invoice number, when we use the Sf/Qb connector app to create the invoice in Qb when the Sf opportunity is closed, do we have the option to map the invoice number listed on the Salesforce Opportunity so that it also becomes the invoice number on the Qb invoice?

Getting the right support to ensure your app is seamlessly integrated with QuickBooks is my priority., @storenfinancial.

Let me route you to the best available support that can assist you with syncing your invoice payments to Salesforce.

Salesforce is one of the supported third-party application in QuickBooks. There would be a need for us to look up your Salesforce account on a secured environment. Also, they have the tolls to further assist you with tracking your invoice payment information to Salesforce.

Also, since the integration of between Salesforce and QuickBooks deals with API, you can visit the Intuit Developer Forum. They can help you with verifying the integration of the data. Here's how:

  1. Go to: https://help.developer.intuit.com/s/.
  2. Click General Questions.
  3. Select the Ask a Question option.
  4. Press Sign In.
  5. Use your Intuit login credentials.

Feel free to leave a comment below if you have follow-up questions about integrating a third-party app with QuickBooks Online. I'm always here for you.

Thanks for checking in with us, rvitullo.

We can only map the Salesforce information to custom fields in QuickBooks Online (QBO) sales forms. Wherein, you can use text-based custom fields on sales forms to capture this data. The fields don't need to match exactly and this allows you to update the fields at any time. Also, it won't affect approved or saved opportunities. Here's how:

  1. In QuickBooks Online Advanced, go to the Salesforce menu.
  2. In the Customize section, select Field Name Settings.
  3. Review the fields in the Salesforce column.
  4. In the QuickBooks field dropdowns, choose the custom fields you want the info to go into. You can also create new custom fields specifically to capture this data.
  5. When you're done, press Save.

We can also make QuickBooks custom fields visible in Salesforce. Let me show you how:

  1. Open Salesforce.
  2. Follow the steps to edit your Opportunity layout.
  3. In the Opportunity layout section, select Fields.

This lets you add or remove fields from your default Opportunity layout by following the steps below:

  1. Drag the invoice status, amount, ID, or invoice number fields onto the Opportunity layout.
  2. Arrange the fields.
  3. When you're done, tap Save.

For more details about connecting your Salesforce account and import opportunities, see the Connect Salesforce to get opportunities into QuickBooks Online Advanced article. Feel free to visit our Sales and customers page for more insights about managing your company's income and customers.

Keep me posted if you need a hand with running your financial reports or any QBO related. I'm always here to ensure your success. Have a great day.

How does the payment information from the invoice get back into Salesforce after it is paid. Does the connector sync bi-directionally?

With the Salesforce-QBO connector app, you can map custom fields. By creating a custom field for invoice numbers in Salesforce Opportunities, you can map it to QuickBooks invoices when the opportunity closes. Alternatively, Skyvia offers flexible mapping capabilities, allowing you to ensure that Salesforce's custom invoice number transfers accurately to QuickBooks.
