Searching by check number in New Top Search Bar

I think I'm doing something wrong with the new top search bar because I can't seem to search for checks using only the check number or customer invoices using only the invoice number.  I have to click on Advanced Search, search by reference number and then enter the check or invoice number.

Hello TB_Michelle66,

It would be my pleasure to help you find transactions using the check or invoice number in QuickBooks Online.

Can you share to me what happens when you search using the transaction numbers? Is it showing results after searching or none? Any details you could add would be appreciated.

Ideally, transactions should show when you use numbers through the search function. Let's isolate the issue by performing some basic troubleshooting.

We can start with logging into your QuickBooks account through a different browser. It will help us determine if the problem is related to your browser.

If you're able to use the search function without any problem, please go back to your regular browser and clear its cache. This process will remove unnecessary information and will start the system in a clean slate.

Please reach out to me here should you need any additional assistance, I'm here to serve you.

Hello AlcaeusF,

Thank you for your reply.  I have attached a picture of a check # that is a valid check in QBO but does not show up in the search when I type in just the check number.  The "old" search feature would have displayed it.

Thank you,

Michelle

Hi TB,

Have you had any luck getting back to the old search bar? This is an on going issue that Intuit thinks they have fixed. We are still trying to get them to fix this for us, and it happened back in July last year to us. They'll try to have you clear a cashe and do other top level things that don't work.

Please let me know if they're able to help.

Hi jceballos,

I tried switching to Mozilla and that seemed to work but just before receiving your email, I was trying to search for a check number and it didn't work.  I was in Chrome and did not try switching back to Mozilla.  I did not try clearing the cache either.

Please let me know if this helps.

Thank you!

Is it really work, I think in some cases. But usually you need both.
