I'm getting a security warning popup that occurs dozens of times per day.

The popup states - The current webpage is trying to open a site in your trusted sites list. Do you want to allow this?

See image for popup

How do I resolve this error and why is it occurring?

Thanks.

Hi there,

This security warning pops up when QBDT or any webpage you're on is trying to interact with another website that you've specifically added to your Trusted Sites zone in your internet settings. Rest assured, this pop ups can be handled well and I'm here to help you how.

The picture you sent has the same URL but different protocol for web communication, which is why you're seeing the security pop up. I recommend consulting with an IT expert to handle this, as you'll be needing to modify your Trusted Sites list in your default browser. They'll also modify the security settings which should be done cautiously.

Furthermore, we also recommend updating your QBDT to the latest update to ensure everything works perfectly.

Let me know if you need help with updating your QBDT. We're always ready to help.

Mark,

Thank you for your help. I was able to adjust the third-party cookies allowing intuit.com. I believe making the change in IE/Edge solved the problem. The real concern is why this changed from when the software was installed. Why does Intuit use HTTP rather than HTTPS? Nobody has been able to answer that, even the Intuit people.

I think I found the easiest solution. At least, it seems be working for my particular case, where I'm getting "Do you want this app to make changes to your device?" error.

Quit QB. Then go to the app shortcut and right-click. Select "Run as administrator".

So far, this has been working for me. Earlier, I had over 10 pop-up warnings from Windows Security. Now there are none (fingers crossed).
