The PO is saving when there is no Customer/Project selected. But, when I input either Customer/Project or Class it shows the error.

We’re here to help you have a more efficient working experience in QuickBooks Online (QBO), especially with creating purchase orders, Ujwal. We'll run some troubleshooting steps to move past the error.

Let's start by logging in to QBO and generating a purchase order via incognito mode or private browsing. This method prevents the browser from storing any data, so web pages will continue to download and show up just fine.

See the following keyboard shortcuts to open a private window:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Safari 11 or newer: ⌘ + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Shift + Ctrl + P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + N

If you can create a purchase order and save it via private browsing, return to your regular browser and clear the cache to delete saved data and improve its performance. Otherwise, utilize another supported browser.

If none of these suggestions work, it's best to reach out to our QBO Care Team for further assistance. They have the tools to pinpoint the cause of the "Select an account for this transaction" error. Additionally, our specialists will assist you in applying a permanent solution when it is available.
