How do I send Company file from a Mac?

If you need to move QuickBooks to another computer, you'll initially want to confirm you've backed up your company file. Afterwards, you can deauthorize the old computer.

Here's how:

Go to your QuickBooks menu, choose Manage My License, Deauthorize This Computer. then select Deauthorize and Quit.
Re-open QuickBooks and follow the registration process. You'll be able to enter a different license if necessary. If you encounter any issues, refer to our Fix activation, license, & product numbers issues article.

After deauthorizing your old computer, you can restore the company file:

Double-click your backup file to open a new window showing a copy of the company file. If you've included attachments in your backup, you should also see a folder named Attachments Library.
Drag the copy of your company file to the folder where you usually store your company data. If there's an Attachments Library folder, move it to the same place.
Open QuickBooks for Mac and click Browse.
Go to your folder where you saved the company file copy, then choose it and hit Open.
A prompt will appear indicating you're opening a backup file. Press Continue.
Enter a name for your company file and select Save, then OK.

Then, I suggest preparing your data. Please remove any memos longer than 50 characters or contain special characters like !@#$%^&*. Here's how to get your data ready:

Select the Reports menu and then Custom Transaction Detail Report.
From the Dates drop-down menu, select All Dates.
Double-click a transaction with a memo to open it.
Delete the other characters from the memo field and select Save.
Close the transaction.
Repeat the steps for all other transactions.
Re-sort your lists.
Go to File and click Utilities, then Verify Data.

After that, you can start moving your books to the Windows version:

Sign in to QuickBooks Mac as the admin.
Go to the File menu and select Export.
Choose the To QuickBooks for Windows button.
If you get a prompt to verify before you back up, hit Verify.
Name the company file (don't add special characters) and choose the folder to save it. Then, select Save.
Enter and confirm your password, then select OK. Select OK again.
Move the data to your Windows computer. Most people do this with a USB flash drive, online storage, or email if it is small enough.
Restore the data in QuickBooks for Windows.

However, if you want to move your data to another Mac computer, you'll have to create a backup first before performing the steps below.

I would like to send the Company file from my Mac to the business owner who is also on a Mac. Everything I have read only deals with Mac to Windows. I am using the QB Mac Plus 2022 version.
