Should I start new year new year or not

It's best to deal with it as soon as possible so you will not have further issues when recording transactions in the future. Make sure that you reconcile your data before closing your books. I recommend consulting your accountant for guidance with cleaning up data in 2023. I would recommend signing up for a new QBO account to start your 2024 from scratch and fix your 2023 separately. Once you have fixed 2023, you will signup for a third (new) QBO account to merge data from 2023 and 2024. You can purchase a 3rd party service to do so or use a migration tool.
