Question

+ sign to add a line item to a bill is missing in my QB online Cursor Changes

I used to be able to add a line item to my bills.  I could point to the 9dot square on the far left.  This would then change to a plus sign or 4pt arrow so I could add a new line item or move a line item.  This feature is not working the cursor changes to an open hand and does nothing.  I have to go to the bottom of my line items where it automatically adds a line for me.

We'll work on resolving this so that you can add additional lines without the need to scroll all the way down, dlandes.

I also tried this in my BQO account and I can still see the option to add a line in the middle of the transaction. However, you need to click on the area or section where you want to insert the additional line. Hovering your mouse over the 9 dot square would only allow you to rearrange the lines.

Once you click on the section, you will see that the 9 dot square will change into a 4 point arrow that indicates where the new line will be added.

Hi dlandes,

I appreciate you following the instructions provided by my colleague and taking the time to give us an update. Let's find out if the missing plus (+) button is caused by random browser issues.

To initiate the process, we will log into QuickBooks Online (QBO) through a private or incognito window. This guarantees that the pages won't depend on potentially flawed, outdated, or corrupted cached data. Through this approach, the QBO pages will directly fetch current information from Intuit's server, granting us access to newly updated and precise data.

Keyboard shortcuts for opening a private browser:

  • Google Chrome and MS Edge: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N

You'll want to log in once more to check if there's a plus icon now. If yes,  clear the cache of your browser. If not, consider using a different browser to determine if the problem is specific to the one you are currently using.

Let me know how the instructions work for you.
