"Something went wrong" error message when trying to do 1099s

After Step 2 - Review recipients for 1099s, I hit Next and get an error message "something went wrong. Please try later."  I don't know what this message means or how to fix it.

Allow me to share some information about your concern. At the moment, there is an ongoing investigation regarding where customers are receiving an error message stating, "something went wrong" after clicking 'Next' on Step 2 of Prepare 1099s. This error is not related to any contractor information such as ZIP. We suggest contacting our Customer Support Team and requesting to be added to the list of affected users. This way you will receive email updates and be notified once the issue is resolved.

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online company.
  2. Select Help (?).
  3. Select either tab to get started:
