switching to single user

just recently this started happening; when we import checkes and we are in multi user. the admin switches to single user and QB says the admin is still logged on in multiusers. All other 4 users have logged out of QB and the system stays in multiuser mode. He tries again to switch to single users and the system gives the same answer (admin still logged in multiusers) and freezes. the admin has a user name and has all the credentials as the admin; logs in as a user and is able to change the system to single user and imports. He also changes back the system into multiuser mode so everyone can continue to work. Has anyone else had this problem switching as the administrator ?

It's nice to have you here in the Community forum, @Aaron956. Let me assist you in fixing some challenges you encounter in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).

I know how time-consuming it is to run with difficulty importing checks and switching users. Let's utilize QuickBooks Tool Hub to help us diagnose and fix errors and glitches in QBDT.

Let's begin by downloading and installing QuickBooks Tool Hub. Here's how:

  1. Close QuickBooks. Then, download the latest version (1.6.0.3) of the QuickBooks Tool Hub.
  2. Open the file you downloaded (QuickBooksToolHub.exe).
  3. Adhere to the on-screen instructions to install and accept the terms and conditions.
  4. Double-click the icon on your Windows desktop to launch the tool hub after the installation is complete.

Then, run Quick Fix my File. I'll show you how:

  1. Select Company File Issues from the tool hub.
  2. Click Quick Fix my File, then hit OK.
