To which chart of account do I record a trade show attendance?

I attended my first trade show this year and I'm unsure under what chart of accounts do I assign my expense. If I create a new one labeled Trade Show Attendence, would that fall under general business expense? Thanks!

This is an interesting question. It kinda depends on how much detail you need at the end of the year for taxes. QBO doesn't support endless levels of accounts, nor are they always necessary. IMHO, I would put your airfare, hotel, and rental car under travel, meals under travel meals, and trade show entry fee under Professional Development. In the Description of each expense, I would enter something like "Tradeshow in DC" so that you can do a query on the term if necessary.
