To start off, create a backup copy of the company file to prevent accidental loss. I'm here to ensure the process is a breeze for you.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. In your company file, head to the File menu at the top and choose Back up Company and Create Local Backup.
  2. Tick the radio button for Local backup and click Next
  3. In the Local Backup Only section, click the Browse button and select where you want to save your backup company file.
  4. When you're ready, click OK.
  5. Press the Save it now button and Next

 

QuickBooks creates a single backup company file. When it's done, you get a confirmation message.

Next, install the most recent QuickBooks version. After that, restore the business file you had previously saved.
